Idah Peterside, a former Nigerian goalkeeper insists 35-year-old Vincent Enyeama ,who abruptly called time on his international career in 2015 is ‘tired of playing’ for the country.

The idea of the Lille shot-stopper returning to the Super Eagles’ setup has long been mooted, but Peterside thinks otherwise.

“I was one of those who spoke to [Vincent] Enyeama when there was an attempt to get him back to the national team and he told me he’s tired of playing for Nigeria,” Idah told Super Sport.

“So, there should be no Enyeama [at the World Cup]. The players should have the love to play for Nigeria and not the love to play at the World Cup and make history.

Idah Peterside now a TV pundit, further went ahead to suggest who should be Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper at the World Cup.

“Ezenwa appears to be the number one now after what he did in the qualifiers, but he is not world-class,” he continued.

“Uzoho is better than him and I believe the training camp before the World Cup will determine who is really number one.”
