Pillars debunk news of Afelokhai rejoining club

Nigeria Professional football league side Kano Pillars on Tuesday evening named players to be recruited by the team and debunked claims of Former skipper Theophilus Afelokhai returning to the club for this season.

In a statement released by the club’s media officer Idris Malikawa, the club stated the Enyimba goalkeeper is not on the shortlist of players to be recruited by the club.

“Afelokhai is not even among the players
that the technical crew of the team
shortlisted to be recruited this season,” said the club statement.

“Nobody either from the management or
technical crew indicated interest to return
him to sai masu Gida.”

The club also wished their former goalie a successful outing anywhere he chooses to play for.

Malikawa maintained that some of the
shortlisted players requested by the club
have already joined the club training in
Kano, among them are Ifeanyi Nweke from
Rivers United, Adamu Hassan from Nasarawa United, Manu Garba from Wikki Tourist FC, more players are expected to arrive this week to the Kano Camp.
