Pre-World Cup friendlies: Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia record wins

Of all five african representatives for the Mundial in Russia, only two failed to record a win in the Friendly games they were involved in on Friday evening, with Senegal playing out a stalemate with Uzbekistan and Egypt losing to Portugal.

Nigeria, Tunisia, and Morocco were Victors over Poland, Iran and Serbia respectively, as the teams were involved in friendly games ahead of the world cup in June.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Poland 1-0, Tunisia also edged Iran with a lone goal, while Morocco saw off serbia with a 2-1 win on Friday night.

Nigeria’s Victor Moses scored in the 61st minute from the Spot and that sealed the victory for the West African Team against the Poles.

It wasn’t an easy game for Tunisia, as an own goal from Iranian player, Milad Mohammidi in the 71st minute was what it took to secure victory for the North Africans.

Morocco’s Khalid Boutaib


The game for Morocco against Serbia was a first half affair alone in terms of goals, as it ended 2-1 in Morocco’s favor.

Morocco opened scoring via the spot on the 29th minute via Hakim Ziyech.Southampton’s Dusan Tadic replied in good fashion on the 37th minute, but a-3 minute interval was what Morocco needed to grab a winner as Khalid Boutaib struck on the 40th minute.

Mohammed Salah in action against Portugal


For The losing side Egypt, Salah’s 56th minute strike was canceled out by Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace in a game that ended 2-1 for the Portuguese.

Senegal who didn’t lose, came from a goal down to force a 1-1 draw against Uzbekistan as Konate scored on the 63rd minute for the Teranga Lions.

All of these teams get involved in another friendly game, On Tuesday, March 27. Nigeria will play Serbia, Senegal plays Bosnia & Herzergovina, while Morocco will take on Uzbekistan.

Egypt will be up against Greece and Tunisia will play Costa Rica.
