Nigeria International striker, Obinna Nsofor on Saturday netted his first South Africa premier league goal for his team against Ajax Cape Town.
Nsofor pitched his tent with Cape Town City after he terminated his contract in Germany at the end of last season.
In a fiercely contested encounter, the two sides stood on each others neck until the 34th minute, when City eventually broke the deadlock as Victor Obinna Nsofor latched onto a pass from Ayanda Patosi before firing past Petersen from close range.
After the goal, Cape Town city coach and former South African international, Benni McCarthy replaced Nsofor in the 46th minute with Judas Moseamedi.
The Citizens had a chance to extend their lead shortly after break, but Craig Martin only managed to head over the crossbar from six-yards out.
City eventually sealed the win in the 88th minute when Judas Moseanedi broke into the box, before firing under the arm of Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper, Peterson.
Cape Town City now sit third on the log with 12 points from 6 matches.
