Having won the annual pre-season Tournament, Gold Cup, Kano Pillars skipper Rabiu Ali ‘Pele’ has said he is delighted to have won the trophy for his club.
Rabiu expressed this to Naijafootballplus.com on Sunday evening, stating how happy he is to win the biggest pre-season tournament ahead of the upcoming season.
“It’s a great feeling that Kano Pillars won the Gold Cup 2017, and I am very delighted,” said a happy Ali. “Also me getting the solitary goal that gave us the trophy, I am happy and I give thanks to God for that.
“Appreciation must also go out to the fans for their endless prayers and support.”
Kano Pillars won the Gold Cup were they defeated Lobi Stars on Friday courtesy of Rabiu Ali’s 33rd minute strike.
He also said Pillars are now focused and have turned their attention to the NPFL super 6 Invitational Tournament which comes up in December, organised by the League Management Company.
He added: “We now have our attention on the upcoming Super 6, which we want to do well and make use of it as a good Warm up for the upcoming season, and the team is charged having won the Gold Cup.”
