Falconets forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, has revealed that the team currently participating in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup going on in France have their sights on the trophy.
Speaking after scoring a 95th minute equaliser that saw the Nigerians qualify for the quarter finals over their opponents on the evening, China, the FC Robo captain expressed her delight and the team’s target.
“I feel great, I’m happy for the success and the victory. It’s all good.
“Our target is to play as a team and make sure we get to the finals of the competition and hopefully, triumph in the finals.” She said.
Rasheedat Ajibade has scored all of Nigeria’s goals in the tournament. The first, a penalty against Haiti and then a last grasp equaliser against China.
The Falconets will face Spain on Thursday by 5:30pm as they prepare to move a step further to the semifinals and closer to their target.
Nigeria are Africa’s brightest light in the tournament, having reached the finals on two occasions, falling both times to Germany.
