Ahead of his team’s clash with Rivers United in the CAF Confederations Cup tomorrow, Coach of visiting FUS Rabat of Morocco Hoalid Regragui says he is “scared” of facing the club from Nigeria who are yet to taste defeat on their home turf in 15months.
Rivers United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 last weekend to stretch their unbeaten run at the Yakubu Gowon stadium in Port Harcourt to 32 games spread over two seasons in all competitions since the club was renamed from Dolphins FC to Rivers United.
FUS Rabat who won their first game in the group against Ugandan side, Kampala City Council FC currently go into tomorrows encounter top of the four-team group.
“Yes I am scared, very scared. I have won only one away game this year. Rivers don’t lose at home and my team don’t win away,” said Reguagui.
“When you have one chance in the football you have to fight and I think it is possible for my team to have a good result, Isa allah”.
Asked if his team were under any pressure knowing before both sides take to the field tomorrow, Kampla City Council had beaten Club Africain 2-1 in their second match in the group to go equal on points with his side, Reguagui said the Rivers United game is only one of six and will take the tie as just another game in the group.
“Three years my team play Africa cup (CAF club competitions) under my experience. You don’t have easy game, never and I have respect for, very big respect for the Rivers club but the game is the same as Kampala, as against Rivers or Club Africain.
“When you play away you have to fight to return at home with one point or three points and perhaps I win, the qualification is not tomorrow, I have four games. Its only one game of six in my group and I respect Rivers,” Reguagui added.
