The house of captain of Nigeria Professional Football League side Remo Stars FC, Victor Mbaoma were thrown into mourning after the death of his father was announced.
The Sky Blue Stars striker broke the news on his facebook wall on friday evening just two days after his team lost 1-0 to Enyimba Int’l FC in calabar.
Mbaoma wrote: “You would have waited a little dad I was making effort. I had plans for you but right now I think I have failed.
The prolific goalscorer added: “I wish God can only breath into you once again. What you told me last on phone before your departure will remain with me.
“I was just too blind to see the writing and am sure you never knew either. Am sorry dad. Good night dad. R.I.P!!! God please”
The burial arrangement of the late Mbaoma will be announced after the family are done with burial arrangements.
A staff of Remo Stars FC who spoke to naijafoootballplus.com said that they didn’t expect this to happen around them.
“It’s not too long that we lost our goalkeeper trainer, Perez and now Mbaoma’s dad. We pray that God should put an end to this untimely death around us I pray God should also give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the management of Remo Stars and his teammates have thrown their support behind the striker and promised to stand by him in this difficult period as they hope he would get over it soon.
The Shagamu based side will play the state Federation cup quarter final on Tuesday, before heading to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United in one of the rescheduled fixture of the NPFL.
