Rivers Angels Coach, Edwin Okon says his team’s Target for the new season is to win both the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title and the Aiteo Federation cup trophy.
Speaking to Naijafootballplus.com shortly after the club unveiled seven new players signed ahead of the new season, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium Port Harcourt on Friday, Okon explained that the club is in a tight group and so it is only natural for the Aiteo Cup holders to strengthen the team and brace up for the challenge ahead.
“We will try as much as we can to fortify our team against the season because if you check through the schedule of the league for the year, our group is very strong and as a team we just have to think of how to beef up the team” Okon said.
He added that the Jewel of Rivers as they are fondly called will leave no stone unturned as they seek ‘The double’ this season.
“As a coach of the team, this is the heart of the double in Nigeria and seeing us doing this unveiling, my thinking is that by the inclusion of these players into the team, I think we will achieve our aim by getting the double this year”
Meanwhile Rivers Angels also announced Haggai Sports as the club’s new kit sponsor for the 2017/2018 NWFL season.
