Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has handed a late invitation to CSKA Moscow forward Aaron Samuel and Standard Liege defender Uche Agbo for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon, Naijafootballplus.com can report.
Aaron Samuel replaces injured Arsenal FC midfielder Alex Iwobi. Iwobi has been ruled out of the qualifiers in Uyo and Yaoundé due to injury.
Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye informed Naijafootballplus.com on Sunday that the duo will join the squad in Uyo this week.
“We have received the news about Iwobi, he is injured and he won’t be available for the games against Cameroon. Coach Gernot has recalled stand-by players Aaron and Agbo. Both players have been directed to join the team in Uyo this week,” Ibitoye divulged to Naijafootballplus.com.
The Super Eagles will resume training tomorrow (Monday) in Abuja. Naijafootballplus.com can confirm the arrival of Odion Ighalo, John Mikel Obi and Daniel Akpeyi.
