Just as the ongoing Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup entered second round of group matches on Tuesday, the world football governing body , FIFA has appointed match officials for the upcoming clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and their counterpart from Iceland.
The Nigeria team suffered 2-0 defeat to Croatia on Saturday in their opening game and must record a positive result on Friday to have a realistic chance of progressing.
Iceland in their game pulled a surprise 1-1 draw against Argentina and will also require victory in the clash.
FIFA named Matthew CONGER (NZL) as the centre referee and will be supported by compatriots Simon LOUNT (NZL), Tevita MAKASINI (TGA), Ricardo MONTERO (CRC) and Hiroshi YAMAUCHI (JPN)
The match is slated for Friday 4pm Nigeria time.
