Saka hopeful of success in second spell in Port Harcourt

Midfielder Ayo Saka is hopeful of a successful second spell in the Garden City of Port Harcourt.

Saka who was amongst players signed by Rivers United in the mid-season transfer window returns to Port Harcourt City having previously played for the club in the 2014/15 season when it was then known as Dolphins FC.

He was the match winner as 10 man Rivers United beat Nasarawa United 1-0 on Saturday in an NPFL Match day 20 encounter and Saka says the current team is indeed a good side.

“It is not that easy to play one man down. They (Nasarawa) are a good side but we are a better side” he said during the post match press interview.

“We had to psyche ourselves that we could do it and God helped us to scale through” he added.

Memories of a relegation battle with Dolphins in the 2014/15 season has in no way affected Saka’s quest to succeed this time around in Port Harcourt and he says he is looking forward to succeed with Rivers United.

“I’m excited to be back to Port Harcourt and I pray my coming back will be crowned with success.”

Ayo Saka who signed up from Sunshine Stars happened to have scored the lone goal which helped the Akure gunners beat Rivers United in the first half of the season.
