Samuel Kalu continues to be the star attraction of the numerous Nigerians playing in Belgium scoring yet another goal for Gent, this time the winner in their 1-0 win over Club Brugge on Sunday evening.
The tricky left footed winger starting the match alongside his Nigerian compatriots Moses Simon and midfielder Anderson Esiti took just 2 minutes to find the net, a goal that proved the eventual match winner.
Gent however did not finish the game with any of their Nigerian starters with Esiti the first to be replaced in the 63rd minute by Giorgi Chakvetadze.
Moses was next to be recalled to the bench with Roman Yaremchuk taking his place.
Goal scorer and match winning hero Samuel Kalu was then replaced with Franko Andrijasevic in the 88th minute to an appreciative ovation by the Gent fans.
Kalu, 20 known for his creativity has now added goals to his general play, which has seen him notch his 8th goal in 26 matches this season, while also assisting 6 goals.
Another Nigerian, Dennis Bonaventure did feature for the losing side, Club Brugge.
Bonaventure only saw 7 minutes action of normal time after replacing Dion Cools, as Brugge threw in everything in search of a futile equalizer.
The Nigerian trio at Gent will next face Standard Liège in a clash that will see them come up against another Nigerian in Uche Agbo.
