After watching the young players of the Nigerian super Eagles hold his
experienced Teranga Lions to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match played last week Thursday, coach Alliou Cisse of Senegal has predicted great things for the Nigerian national team.

“Nigeria is a good team. Nigeria is a football country with many very good
players. That has always been the case, with Jay-Jay Okocha, and so on,” Cisse said.

“We respect this team. They did not qualify for the last Africa Cup of Nations but it is a good team that has a future.

“Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Algeria, are the future of African football,” he reiterated.

Senegal took the lead in the match against Nigeria through Musa Sow, before Kelechi Iheanacho equalized for Nigeria in the closing stages of the match.

Nigeria’s second friendly against Burkina Faso today (Monday), has been
cancelled due to visa problems by the Burkina Faso team.
