After he agreed to depart with La Liga side Girona on mutual consent and joined Ukrainian Premier League power house Shakhtar Donetsk, Super Eagles forward Kayode Olarenwaju has finally been welcomed to the club officially.
Kayode switched to Shakhtar after he struggled to make the first team of Catalan based club Girona.
The skilful forward joined Girona on loan from English Premier League giants Manchester City after he joined the ‘Citizens’ on a 5-year deal from Austria side Austria Wien.
Kayode, a former Nigeria junior international, played 13 times for Girona, but failed to score in those games.
The club welcomed him yesterday to the team and posted it on their instagram page @fcshaktar.
“Welcome to Ukraine. Larry Kayode has arrived in Kyiv”.
Kayode will have the opportunity to play in the Uefa champions league for Shaktar if they advance to the quarter final stage.
The team presently holds a 2-1 first leg advantage over AS Roma of Italy in the round of 16 of the competition.
