Relegated Shooting Stars of Ibadan have come out to put an end to the rumors spreading around on owed Salaries of their Late Player, Izu Joseph.
The club on their social media page made a statement debunking stories that Izu’s salary has not been paid and gave a statement to put an end to the Morass.
The official statement from The Club Goes thus: “Our Attention has been drawn to a letter from one Reuben Izu to the oyo State Government on behalf of the family, appealing for the payment of salaries and allowances the Club owed the Late Player”
“While we acknowledge that the club is still owing the late player, it is very pertinent to put the records straight that, hardly would a month pass, without paying into the account of Pa Izu Snr, the father of Late Izu, as requested by the Family in the last 6 months.” !
According to the statement, the issue did not go down well with the said Reuben Izu, who wanted payments directed to his account, which is causing friction within the family.
Shooting stars affirmed that they had to come out to speak, in order to stop Reuben’s mischievous act.
One who can confirm their payment is Austin Popo who visited the club on Friday.
“We are committed to offsetting his outstandings, and this position was acknowledged by Austin Popo, an Official of the NPFL” said Shooting stars.
