Nigerian striker Simmy Nwankwo can do no wrong for troubled Serie A side Crotone at the moment as he scored yet another goal in a 2-1 win against Udinese in a league match on Sunday.
Nwankwo it would be recalled scored a brilliant goal in a 1-1 draw against league leaders Juventus only on Wednesday, and he couldn’t have had a better week with his goal helping Crotone pick up vital points away to Udinese, helping boost their survival chances in the League.
Things started rather roughly for Crotone with Kevin Lasagna finding the back of the net for Udinese with only 5 minutes played, but there was a quick response from Simmy Nwankwo who stayed alert to equalize 2 minutes after they went behind.
The encounter dragged on till late on in the match when Davide Faraoni scored the match winner in the 86th minute to grab all 3 points, moving Crotone up to 17th on the league table, 2 points ahead of 18th placed SPAL FC who lost on Saturday.
Simmy Nwankwo has now scored 5 goals in all competitions for Crotone this season with 3 of his goals coming in the month of April.
One might suggest the striker is trying to score himself to the notice of the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
