Six Nigerians named in England U-20 World Cup squad

In the absence of Nigeria Flying Eagles at the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea, England’s Junior Three Lions​ coach, Paul Simpson on Monday afternoon released the country’s final list for the tournament.

Amongst the listed players named for the tournament, six Nigerians made the cut.

Top on the list is Everton starlet Ademola Lookman (pictured above) who joined the Tofees from championship side Charlton Athletic.

Midfielder Sheyi Ojo plays for Liverpool

He was joined by Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo both from Liverpool, others include two players from Chelsea in Dominic Solanke and Fikayo Tomori, while former Dream Team VI invitee Joshua Onomah joins from Tottenham Hotspurs.

The team will move to Osaka on Tuesday for a six-day training camp before commencing their campaign, against Argentina on May 20th.

Nigeria crashed out to Sudan in the Africa qualifiers category losing 2-3 on aggregate.
