English championship side Reading FC returned to winning ways on good Friday with Sone Aluko scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

The Royals who hadn’t won a game since a victory over Burton Albion in January, hosted QPR under the tutelage of new manager Paul Clement and showed much improvement in their performance to get maximum points to pressure the team.

Former Super Eagles midfielder Sone Aluko secured the victory for the team with a thunderbolt in the 13th minute of the encounter.

Reading who suffered a string of bad results during the era of former coach Jaap Stan took the game to their opponents from the blast of the whistle with a purposeful approach to the game thus earning for themselves a goal.

The away team turned the pressure on Reading and the 70th minute saw them reduced to 10 men following a red card issued to Yann Kermongant but the Royals held on to claim maximum points.

Aluko was also yellow carded in the 90th minute for dangerous play.

Sone Aluko last played for Nigeria in AFCON 2015 qualifier against South Africa in Uyo where he netted two goals to rescue a point for the Super Eagles.
