Sophia Omidiji choose Excelsior over PSG


Nigeria Under-20 women national team player Sophia Omidiji has put pen to paper for dutch club Excelsior Rotterdam and will feature in the women Eredivisie next season.

Omidiji who just turned, 20, is targeting a spot in the Super Falcons squad ahead of the FIFA Women World Cup in 2019.

Born to a Nigerian father and American mother, Sophia Omidiji started her football journey with Las Vegas Premier Sports Academy, she also had a spell at Sierra Vista High School before transferring to Dutch club FC Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

PSG were thought to be leading the race for the light skinned attacker but she chose to remain in the Netherlands and have signed a full contract at Excelsior Rotterdam.

Omidiji represented Nigeria in the U-20 FIFA World Cup in 2015. prior to joining FC Eindhoven, she scored 38 goals for  Las Vegas Premier Sports Academy.
