Spain – La Liga

Former Watford striker Isaac Success will need to prove his fitness after getting subbed off in the 36th minute in Malaga’s 0-1 loss at home to Sevilla FC.

Success has not completed a game this season either for Watford or now for Malaga, with niggling injuries ravaging his season.

Meanwhile his teammate and Brown Ideye failed to complete a game for Malaga for the first time since joining the basement side on loan from Tianjin Teda in January. Ideye received a 44th minute yellow card before he was withdrawn to the bench in the 76th minute.

Israel – FA Cup

Super Eagles duo of midfielder John Ogu and striker Anthony Nwakaeme could not help defending champions Hapoel Beer Sheva progress to the semi final of the Israeli FA Cup, as they lost 0-1 to resolute Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

England – Fa Cup replay

English born striker of Nigerian decent Tammy Abraham was in inspiring form for Swansea City in their 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in an FA Cup replay match played on Tuesday.

Abraham provided the assist for the second goal, as second-half goals from Jordan Ayew and Nathan Dyer sent Swansea into the FA Cup quarter-finals where they will battle Tottenham Hotspur.

Netherlands – KNVB Cup

Veteran Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche was brought on from the bench for Willem II replacing Thom Haye in the 46th minute in their 0-3 loss in the semi final of the Dutch cup to high flying Feyenoord.

Russia – FA Cup

Striker Aaron Samuel was on for the entire duration of Amkar Perm’s 6-7 loss on penalties to Avangard Kursk in their Russian FA cup match.

Samuel recently joined FC Amkar Perm from reigning Russian league champions CSKA Moscow in search for more playing time.

English Championship

Finally we end in the second tier of English league where versatile Nigerian full back Ola Aina gave another good account of himself in Hull City’s 1-1 draw at home to Barnsley.
