Amuneke who was touted to be in line to take over his former team Zamalek of Egypt early this year, on Tuesday evening agreed a two year deal with Sudanese Premier league side, Al-Khartoum Watani.
He replaces Ghana’s national team coach Kwesi Appiah, who resigned his position after he got appointed as the new manager of the Black stars of Ghana.
Al-Khartoum Watani is presently placed 6th on the 18 team table with 46 points, 21 adrift of league leaders Al Merriekh who have 67 points.
His first game in charge of the side will be away from home against Hay Al Wadi on Saturday
Amuneke joins the likes of Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi, Finidi George, Seyi Olofinjana etc who decided to take appointments outside the shores of Nigeria.
