Meanwhile Plateau United goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye believes the Super Eagles are favourites in the tie against the Squirrels.
“It was a smooth journey here and we appreciate the Federation for all the support given to the team. The Federation has given us a good environment to prepare for the qualifiers,” said Ajiboye on arrival at the Hotel Royal.
“The coaches have done amazing work on us and the fighting spirit is high. We have been working for weeks and we are ready to fly the colours of the country in the qualifiers.
“We understand the stake and the expectations back home, but we must give respect to our host. They have also prepared and played two games in the qualifiers which they scored in both games. They have shown they can score goals and we have to work as a team.
“The coaches have worked on several information gathered about them with the players and we have done that with the two test matches played in Kano.
“We have to stay focus and fight like a unit all duration of the game, we need to secure a positive result from the first leg and make things easy in the second leg in Nigeria. I’m optimistic we will leave here with our target, I think we have got more experience and a better group of players.”
The team will have their lunch at 2pm, while the first training session is scheduled for 5pm.
