Despite the exciting performances and couple of positive results against Cameroon last month, Super Eagles of Nigeria only dropped from their previous 38th position to 44th position in the latest Coca Cola FIFA ranking that was released on Thursday.
Super Eagles are now 5th in Africa as the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon also dropped 10 places from 35th to 45th in the world and 6th in Africa.
However, Nigeria’s next opponents, Zambia – who blew away Algeria on both legs of their World cup Qualifiers clash, rose significantly from 96th to 78th in the world while Algeria dropped completely out of top 50 to 62nd.
Germany and Brazil swapped places at the summit of the ranking as the reigning world champions climbed to the apex.
