Las Pamas of Spain midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo is still sweating to be fit for the Super Eagles clash against Serbia in London on Tuesday, after missing the 1-0 win over Poland on Friday.
The Super Eagles resumed training on Sunday at the Barnet FC Stadium where they are preparing for the Serbia game, with a recovery session.
In a statement posted on the Super Eagles verified Twitter handle, Etebo who missed the game against Poland on Friday due to injury, did not train with the rest of his teammates even though he flew in from Spain to team up with the squad.
“Our first training session at the Barnet FC Stadium in London went smoothly. New arrivals Junior Ajayi, Gabriel Okechukwu, Mikel Agu were actively involved but Oghenekaro Etebo was on the sidelines,” the Super Eagles Twitter handle said.
The Super Eagles will train again by 4pm on Monday and the session will be open to the media and fans for the first 20 minutes only.
Meanwhile, central defender Leon Balogun had a ‘slight knock’ against Poland before he was subbed off, while Shehu was replaced over fears of a hamstring injury.
Both players will also be assessed to ascertain their fitness level before the game against Serbia on Tuesday.
Las Pamas are hoping to have Oghenekaro Etebo Play some part in their big weekend clash against La Liga champions Real Madrid over the weekend.
