Osas Okoro’s last-gasp free-kick salvaged a draw for Super Eagles B Team against a Kano Selected side at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The CHAN Super Eagles team forced the Selected side to a 1-1 draw in their second test game ahead of the 2018 CHAN qualifier against Benin Republic.
The Kano Selected side coached by Kano Pillars manager Musa Ibrahim took the lead in the first half after a defensive mix up.
Rangers International wing-back Osas Okoro rescued the team from an embarrassing defeat with a late equalizer from a beautiful free-kick in additional time.
The 29 players in camp apart from injured Abia Warriors striker Sunday Adetunji were tested and got minutes to play in the test game.
Super Eagles chief coach Salisu Yusuf after the game revealed that unimpressive players will be dropped before the first-leg of the qualifier in Cotonou this weekend.
“We are trying to mold a team, create unity and bonding among the players. We gave all the players in camp minutes to play and for them to show us what they can offer the team.
“We have seen what the players can offer in training and match situation. This game has given us an idea and the shape of the team. I have to discuss with my assistant coaches and think over the team again.
“It is a good practice game and the boys did well, but we have to drop some players before this weekend. Some players have not meet up with our expectations and what we expected from them. We have to reduce the numbers and focus on those that can give us the desired results,” said Salisu.
According to Naijafootballplus.com sources, coach Salisu Yusuf may drop seven players of the 30 on Thursday.
