Nigeria’s Super Falcons dropped in the latest FIFA ranking released on Friday afternoon but still maintain top spot in Africa.
The Super Falcons were ranked 37th in the world with 1613 points in December 2017 despite been inactive for a whole year.
The team dropped one place to 38th position with 1608 points on the ranking released on the website of the world football governing body.
The senior female team which came third in the maiden edition of the recent WAFU women tournament in Cote d’Ivoire failed in February to honour an invitational tournament in Turkey, which may have helped increase the team’s ranking points.
Nigeria however remains Africa’s number one, while WAFU cup Champion Ghana are in second place, Cameroon are third, while South Africa and Equatorial Guinea occupy the fourth and fifth position respectively.
The Super Falcons are scheduled to play France in an international friendly in Paris in April.
