Nigeria senior women national football team is amongst countries invited to take part in a women invitational tournament tagged Alanya, scheduled to hold in Turkey.
The Super Falcons have not played a competitive match since they emerged African champions in 2016 where they defeated hosts Cameroon in the final.
Currently, a selection of local based Nigeria women footballers are participating in the maiden edition of the WAFU women cup competition currently ongoing in Coted’ivoire.
According to reports from Jwsports, apart from Nigeria, countries like Mexico, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia and France will be part of the tournament albeit their B team.
The Super Falcons who have been scheduled to play their France counterpart in an international friendly in Paris have been given a first round bye in the AWCON 2019 qualifiers, hence will enter the fray in the second round in June.
AWCON 2018 will double as CAF qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup with the top three finishers securing tickets to France 2019.
