They didn’t feature in the 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL season, having dropped to the second tier league, the Nigerian National League, NNL. The story of Remo Stars Fc.

It wasn’t a pleasant one for the fans and some few neutrals also, considering the team is a privately owned club, not just privately opened, but by a bet company’s Chairman.

That’s been gotten over though, as Remo Stars didn’t spend more than one season before returning to the NPFL.

They returned to the 2019 NPFL season, being tutored by coach Fatai Osho, but just couple of days after making the feat with the club, he resigned.  Some reports had it that he retired having been told to assist Coach Kenedy Boboye, so he wasn’t in accession to that and resigned.

So the Boboye era has started and after 3 games in the league, they have amassed 5 out of a possible 9 points, that’s quite impressive from a club returning, and it’s followed also with then being currently 2nd on the Log A, having 2 games outstanding.

On match day 5, they faced Katsina Utd in a game that wasn’t played on their ground, considering the unfortunate incident of fans on the match day referee, which caused them a ban. So the game was played at Osogbo, and they won 2-0 against Abdullahi Biffo’s side.

With their play and position so far, Naijafootballplus had Coach Kenedy Boboye in an interview on Monday evening, and he explained the situation currently.

When asked on if his players can challenge for the top spot in group A, Coach Boboye said;

“Yes, my team has started well, not probably the best, but fair enough, though we’re not there yet already, it’s a gradual process that needs to be observed steadily, the players are dedicated and hopefully we can make a good spot at the end. We don’t want to be too carried away by our position now, but we accept it, and we’ll even get better as the game goes on”.

Speaking further, he spoke on areas needed to improve to produce better results;

” We can’t rate ourselves though, but the team is very young, Still time needed to work well together, even though there isn’t much time, we’ll try to take good use of our chances, and convert very well. In all, we’ll put in much of hardwork to get to the top. Said Coach Boboye.

Up next for Boboye and his boys is match day 6 fixture away in Akure against Sunshine Stars.
