Go Round in action against Plateau United

The Nigeria Professional Football league returns this Sunday with as many as six matches to be held across various centers and four teams involved in the continent. We bring you the top 5 of the lot below:

5. Sunshine Stars vs Wikki Tourists
Sunshine Stars are clawing back into shape after surviving a bout of problems which have seen them embroiled in all kinds of fiasco but it seems the Owena Waves have found a way to isolate their problems from their football and Coach Henry Abiodun will hope they compound the woes of their visitors who are struggling this season.

4. Rivers United vs Nasarawa United
In the game of Uniteds, Coach Kabiru Dogo famed for his love for youths will hope to pick his first point on the road this season when they visit Port Harcourt to face the Pride of Rivers. Rivers United have overturned their fortunes with a run of some good results which has seen them climb to sixth position but the Solid Miners will prove a hard nut to crack.

3. Rangers Int’l vs Kwara United
Seven time NPFL champions, Rangers International who have reiterated their desire for a continental ticket will welcome a seemingly resurgent Kwara United side in Enugu. The Flying Antelopes are eight points adrift league leaders Lobi and are poised to push further ahead but the Abubakar Bala-tutored Harmony Boys will provide a tricky tie.

2. Elkanemi Warriors vs Heartland
In a game of strugglers, Coach Imama returns to Maiduguri to plan on getting one over fellow strugglers, Heartland FC, who are doing all they can to salvage their season, including contracting a Turkish technical advisor to help Coach Ezekiel Onyegbulem steer the club away from the relegation battle. Both teams need to win so much but the better team on the evening will nick it.

1. Go Round vs Niger Tornadoes
Some games are important for footballing reasons, others gain their importance from very unfootballing reasons which might be political, geographical, social or otherwise and our top game for this weekend will be one of them. Go Round will welcome Niger Tornadoes who are unbeaten in their last five games but the shine will be taken off the game by the man behind the twitter hashtag #Ikwerreman1000 as he marks his 1000th live game seen. A lot is to be learnt as he turns the Krisdera Stadium in Omoku a Mecca of sorts for sports journalists in the country on that matchday.
