A warm welcome to another edition of the top five Nigerian players who posted very positive performances from the weekend.

This week is all about the strikers who lit up Europe with goals.

1. Ahmed Musa ( CSKA Moscow)

Ahmed Musa scored one and laid the assist for the winning goal for Russian premier League side CSKA Moscow in their 2-1 win over Arsen Khubulov in a League match played on Sunday.

Musa who is a key member of the Super Eagles, has now scored 7 goals since returning to CSKA from a failed move to Leicester City in England.

2. Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City)

Following immediately behind Musa is his international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho who were also club mates till Musa left the Foxes.

Iheanacho followed up his goal against Arsenal last Wednesday with an even better effort against another London rival Tottenham, powering a thunderous strike in their 4-5 loss on the last day of the English premier League 2017/2018 season.

Iheanacho has chosen a very timely period to hit top form ahead of the World Cup in Russia next month.

3. Simmy Nwankwo ( Crotone)

No one deserves a call up to the Super Eagles as much as Simmy Nwankwo of Italian league side Crotone.

Nwankwo has been scoring for fun in the last two months, and his effort against Lazio on Sunday moved his tally to 8 goals within that same period.

Nwankwo should at least be given the opportunity to prove his value to the Super Eagles handlers in the friendly matches lined up for the national team before the final team selected for the World Cup.

4. Moses Simon ( Gent Fc )

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon who has suffered various injury problems this year made a strong case for his inclusion in the Super Eagles flight to Russia with the winning and only goal for Gent’s 1-0 triumph over Anderlect.

Simon has been a reliable component of the Nigerian national team under coach Gernot Rohr, and his return to full fitness puts him in line to be among the 23 players heading to Russia in June.

5. Sylvester Igboun ( Fc Ufa )

Striker Sylvester Igboun scored the third goal in the 50th minutes for FC Ufa that help secured a 5-0 thrashing of visiting Tosno Fc in the Russian premier League game played on Sunday.

Igboun has been a regular presence for the Russian league outfit this campaign, scoring and creating assists along the way.

That does it for this week, we expect your feedback and wish you a very productive week ahead.
Cheers !!!
