Troost-Ekong proud to Captain Nigeria

Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong is delighted to have led out the Eagles’ team for the friendly clash against Poland on Friday in Wroclaw.

The Bursaspor of Turkey defender was named captain of the team in the absence of John Mikel Obi who was absent due to visa hitches.

Former Dutch junior international shows leadership quality as the team claimed a 1-0 win over there opponent.

Troost-Ekong reacted on his instagram handle after the game where he also praised the resilience of the players in the game.

“Very honoured to captain Nigeria for the very first time today. And very proud of the boys who fought well to beat Poland 1-0. Thanks for your support”.

William Troost-Ekong made his debut for Nigeria in 2015 against Chad in the AFCON qualifier and he was also part of the Dream Team VI team that won a Bronze medal for Nigeria in Rio 2016.
