U20 WWCQ: Falconets thrash Tanzania

Nigeria’s Falconets today thrashed their Tanzanian opponents by three unreplied goals in a first round first leg tie of the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Falconets impressed their cheering fans by making an Easy work of their opponents.

The thrashing started with Bayelsa Queens utility player Lilian Tule, who put the two-time World Cup finalists on the ascendancy in the 22nd minute.

Rasheedat Ajibade emerged a two-goal heroine as she was on song, first in the 52nd minute when she sloted home for the Falconets and the second in the 57th minute after she confidently dribbled her marker, and calmly slotted into the far corner.

The second leg clash will take place in the next fortnight in Dar e Sallam.

The winners on aggregate will tackle the winners of the Morocco/Senegal clash in the second round in November.

The 9th FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup will be staged in four cities in France from Aug. 7 to Aug. 26, 2018.
