UCL: Aaron Samuel’s CSKA joins Emenike’s Olympiakos in group stage draws


Nigerian international Aaron Samuel will feature in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League barring any sudden transfer, as his Russian club CSKA Moscow cruised to a 2-0 win over visiting Young Boys FC of Switzerland.

CSKA completed a comprehensive 3-0 aggregate victory over Young Boys having beaten them in the first leg reverse fixture 1-0.

Aaron Samuel however did not play any part in Wednesday’s night game, he watched on from the bench as teammates G. Shchennikov scored in the 45th minute, before Alan Dzagoev sealed their spot in Thursday’s expected draw in Monaco.

CSKA featuring Aaron Samuel will join Emmanuel Emenike who plies his trade for Olympiakos and Victor Moses of Chelsea in the group stage draws.

In other Wednesday nights UEFA Champions League playoff results, Liverpool did the double over German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim with a 4-2 bashing to complete a 6-3  aggregate win following last week’s 2-1 success in Germany.
