UEFA Champions League: Emenike, Ogu avoid each other


The draws for the playoffs of the UEFA Champions League has been held with some mouthwatering ties to look forward to.

Nigerian duo of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme who play for Isreali side Hapoel Be’er Sheva were paired against Maribor.

While Olympiakos and their new Nigerian acquisition Emmanuel Eminike were paired against Rijeka.

Both clubs managed to avoid top seeded sides like Liverpool, Napoli, and Sevilla.

Meanwhile five time Champions League winners Liverpool will face German club Hoffenheim. Mario Balotelli’s OGC Nice side face a tricky tie in Napoli.

Ties will be played on 15/16 and 22/23 August. With the winners joining other already qualified teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona , Juventus, chelsea Manchester United, Bayern Munich in the group stage draws.
