Former Dream team VI striker Sadiq Umar is hopeful of a fresh start with parent club Roma when the new Serie A season commences in August.

Umar, who spent the 2016/2017 season on loan at Bologna from Serie A giants Roma, had a season to forget as injury limited him to only seven appearances for Bologna without getting a goal.

The capital club yesterday unveiled Eusebio Di Francesco as their new manager after Luciano Spalleti was sacked at the end of the season and Umar hopes he’ll get a fresh start under the new manager.

“There’s a new coach at Roma and that means a fresh start for everybody, I’m eager, fully fit and rearing to prove my worth to him if given the chance in pre season”, Umar told Kaduna-based Radio host, Mohammed Suleiman.

Umar was part of the Nigeria Dream Team VI that won Bronze medal in RIO 2016 in Brazil.
