Warriors coach believes more needs to be done to maintain good run.
Yaw Preko is mighty pleased following FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s unbeaten run which has seen them go eight matches without losing in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Anambra warriors followed up their three nil match day 20 away demolition of 3SC with a two nil home win against Kano Pillars at the weekend.
The victory saw FC Ifeanyi Ubah who are yet to lose a game since their 2:0 loss to Nasarawa United on match day 13 move up to third place on the NPFL standings, two points behind second placed El Kanemi Warriors and five points behind league leaders Plateau United.
Preko speaking after his sides victory over Pillars, expressed delight over their form at the moment but however acknowledged that plenty needs to be done to ensure they remain atop what he describes as a tough league.
“I’m happy about it. It is however work in progress. We have to keep on working, we don’t have to fall asleep.
“It is a very difficult league and if you go to bed, you’ll be punished Preko” said at the post match presser.
The Ghanian coach further revealed the away win against 3SC had gone to their heads and they nearly paid for it against a hard fighting Kano Pillars.
“After winning three nil away, we thought it (match against pillars) was going to be a piece of cake but this people showed us that we are not done yet, we have to keep on working.
“We are unbeaten but more work needs to be done and I believe we don’t have to be swollen headed” added Preko.
It took some resolute defending coupled with some luck for the Warriors to have kept Pillars at bay in what was indeed a difficult first half for the Anambra side in the match day 21 encounter against the team from up north.
