Victor Moses cleared to play in Community Shield

The English FA has cleared Nigeria and Chelsea winger Victor Moses for upcoming community shield clash against London rival Arsenal on Sunday.

Moses, was sent off for simulation against same opponent in the English FA cup final at Wembley stadium in May.

The FA cleared the air on the issue saying the community shield is considered to be a friendly affair, so he will be allowed to play.

Chelsea’s opponents Arsenal will also see defender Laurent Koscielny take part in the annual curtain raiser despite being sent off on the final day of last season. Koscielny missed the FA Cup final as he is serving a three-match suspension but will be allowed to play in the Community Shield under the same rules by the FA.

Moses, however will not be available for the league opener against Burnley as he’s expected to serve his one match ban.
