Former Super Eagles midfielder and current coach of Real Stars FC, Garba Lawal, says the move to recall Victor Moses to Super Eagles is a dicey one. Victor Moses has not played for Super Eagles since the world cup in Russia and Lawal believes that his recall at this point is not in the best interest of the team.
According to Lawal, “To recall Moses now is difficult because he has stayed out of the game for a long time. Moses, I believe is match rusty now. We need to ask ourselves what is the current form of Moses ? He has been off for more than six months , it’s a different issue if you’re injured because everyone knows you’re injured but this one he is physically fit but not playing”.
Lawal who doubles as the team manager of his club said that the recall of Moses to the national team should be centred around the decision of the coach of the team and not on the decision of Amaju Pinnick who recently said he had scheduled a meeting with Moses and his agent.
” We need to know if the coach wants Moses, Pinnick is not the coach, he is an administrator and president of the federation. If the coach wants Moses, he should come out and say I want to bring Moses back, then it’s good to have him back. So we need to know if the coach wants him and if he wants him, he can come back but definitely it will be difficult for Moses at this moment”.
