Wenger urges Iwobi to learn from Mkhitaryan

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi to learn from newly acquired Arsenal attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan and grow his game appropriately.

Mhiktaryan joined Arsenal from another English Premier League side Manchester United as part of the deal that took Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford.

Though there are speculations that the coming of Armenian international will limit Iwobi’s playing opportunity but Arsenal gaffer has urged him to see it as an opportunity for him to grow his game.

The French gaffer spoke about the player on the club website on Saturday before the Gunners clash against City rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Wenger said: “Mkhitaryan is a good example to follow because they have similar qualities,” Wenger said.

“Alex Iwobi is at the moment moving forward.

“He has had his highs and lows this season, but that is a big part of his age and to see examples like Mkhitaryan will show him the way.”

Iwobi is expected to be a key player for Nigeria’s Super Eagles at next summer World Cup in Russia.
