Former Flying Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi, continues to knock the door for the Super Eagles entry, through his performances in the Belgian league for Royal Excel Mouscron.
The 21-year old striker was on hand on Friday night to rescue point for Mouscron who held its host Standard Liege to a 1-1 draw.
The host took the lead in the 54th minute through Razvan Marin but it took Awoniyi six minutes to level the game for the away side.
Awoniyi has now scored 6 goals in 7 matches for Mouscron in the Jupiler league.
It’s yet to be seen if the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will give Awoniyi a call up to the national team in the dead rubber AFCON qualifier against Seychelles.
