CAF moves Plateau United champions league home matches to Kano

Confederation of African Football (CAF) have moved Plateau United home matches in the 2018 CAF Champions League to Kano from Jos.

The reigning NPFL champions will host Etoile Du Sahel on Sunday in the final round of this year’s CAF Champions League second leg fixture, Etoile won the first leg 4-2 in Tunis.

Plateau United played their previous home matches against Eding FC of Cameroon at their new stadium in Zaria road, Jos but the Tunisian side protested against the stadium faculties and unavailability of international airport in Jos.

“Our game against Etoile has been moved to Kano, it’s sad that our opponent protested against the Zaria road stadium and the situation of our airport,” Plateau United top official told

“We argued against their protest with CAF, we played our home game against Ending FC in Jos and the stadium facilities is much improved, we told CAF about the state airport which can accommodate any flight but seems CAF has decided to give them the advantage.

“We are focused and these antics won’t distract us, I think they are scared of us already. We have the advantage with our two away goals and we’ll work hard to achieve our target. We are not distracted about their childish plans, we will prevail over them in Kano. Kano is our home, we’ll get huge support from the fans and I am optimistic everything will work in our favour.”

The game will now hold at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Sunday at 4pm local time.
