What a way for Chelsea FC to begin their new campaign with an impressive 0-3 win away to Huddersfield Town FC. And it was Kante, Jorginho and Pedro who were on the score-sheet so much to Maurizio Sarri’s delight.
The game started with little space and half chances as both teams tried to play save. Much of the first half was without any serious high-points. However, the game took a new turn in the 34th minute when Willian, who was attacking from the left flank, made a dazzling run in-box before sending a heavy cross into the 18 yards box and Kante was at the right place to direct a half volley to the far corner of the net, 0-1.
From that moment the game came alive with Huddersfield hitting the woodwork in the 38th minute. Mixed chances for the home side led to more fortunes for the blues and in the 44th minute, Schindler’s clumsy challenge on Morata inside his own box led to a penalty kick for Chelsea. Jorginho was cool, calm and collected as he sends the keeper the wrong way to score his first Premier League goal to make it 0-2.
The second 45 for the visiting side was more of a wind-down-the-clock play, but Hazard who was returning from his extended holiday came in from the bench later on in the game. Straight away the diminutive Belgian was firing on all cylinders as he soon dribbled through three defenders in a stunning stunts before providing a seater for Pedro who made no mistake in making it 0-3.
