Liverpool FC are considering a permanent move to Schalke 04 for their 21 year old Nigerian youth international, Taiwo Awoniyi who has attracted lots of interest from clubs in Europe owing to his recent blistering form which has seen him score six times and assist twice in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The Nigerian Youngster joined Liverpool in 2015 but is yet to make his debut for the Merseyside club as he is yet to get his UK work permit and with Brexit deadline looming, may find it more difficult to get his permit on time.
Liverpool Echo reports that Schalke 04 are ready to tempt Liverpool with an £11million bid to price him away from Anfield.
The Bundesliga Club have contacted Liverpool and are ready for talks to sign the young forward, who is currently on loan to Belgian Pro league club, Mouscron, permanently.
Liverpool FC has rated the youngster at about £12.6million amid interest for a loan move from French and Belgian sides. Another Bundesliga club, Mainz 05, are also monitoring the Awoniyi situation at Liverpool.
Awoniyi has played on loan at FSV Frankfurt in Germany and Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, and was at Mouscron last season before returning to the Belgian side in January having struggled to make an impact at Gent. Liverpool made Gent pay a financial penalty for not fielding Awoniyi in up to 70% of their matches in the first half of the Belgian Pro League Season.
Liverpool are hopeful that he will make his full international debut before the end of next season, which will facilitate his eligibility for a work permit in the UK.
