Nigeria national U20 team, Flying Eagles, training camp scheduled to resume on Monday in Abuja has been postponed to next month, Naijafootballplus.com understands.
Flying Eagles head coach Paul Aigbogun last week invited 28 players to camp in Abuja to kick-start preparation for the AFCON U20 qualifiers this year.
The newly appointed Technical crew of the Flying Eagles on Monday met with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical and Development Committee in Abuja.
“The training expected to resume this week has been suspended and postponed till next month. The coaches met with the NFF Technical Committee yesterday in Abuja and all parties held a successful discussion on the team preparation,” a source revealed Naijafootballplus.com.
“The team have been drawn-bye in the first round of the qualifiers, it was decided in the meeting that the coaches should spend more time to scout for more quality players.”
The Flying Eagles camping and preparation for the qualifiers will now commence on March 4th.
Nigeria will face the winner between Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone in the second round of the qualifiers in May.
