Reactions continued to trail the recently concluded 2018 FIFA World cup draw which was conducted on Friday in Moscow, Russia.
The latest, comes from Black stars of Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, who believes Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Teranga Lions of Senegal remains Africa’s brightest hope in the upcoming competition.
Nigeria was placed in D alongside two-time World Cup winners Argentina, debutants Iceland and France 1998 third place team Croatia, while Senegal will slug it out in group H, with Colombia, Poland and Japan.
Speaking to Ghana basef Television GTV, on Friday night, Appiah said right mentality is what the two nation need to excel.
“Nigeria and Senegal are doing well with young players who want to achieve
“They only need the right mentality for the tournament and they can cause a surprise.
He added: “Most of the African countries at the World Cup have got very young squads. And I believe they can surprise many at the tournament.”
Ghana will not take part in the competition after they failed to qualify from their group.
