Former Super Eagles forward Chinedu Obasi has debunked the rumours going around that is on the verge of joining Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgaden.
Obasi who netted 10 goals in 16 appearances for AIK Stockholm during his two spell with the team, refused to extend his stay at the end of his contract in 2017.
The skilful forward has played for different clubs which includes TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Schalke 04, Lyn Oslo and Shenzhen since he journeyed out of Nigeria.
The took to his instagram handle @eduobasi to debunk the rumour.
“I have so much respect for this club @aik and so much love for the fans.so please don’t believe what ever rumors you hear about me going to any other team in Stockholm 💛🖤”
Obasi is one of the few Nigerian players who has played for the country at every level of football.
He was part of the Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets team who represented the country at the FIFA U17 World cup in Finland 2003 and played in the FIFA U20 world cup in Holland where Nigeria came second behind Argentina.
The speedy striker was also part of Samson Siasia’s Dream Team IV that won silver for Nigeria at the Beijing Olympic in China, loosing to Argentina in the final.
Obasi has 18 caps for Nigeria’s Super Eagles score four goals.
