Enugu Rangers FC Gaffer, Gbenga Ogunbote is hopeful of a positive result against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
The Rangers team put 3 goals past Yobe Desert stars in midweek with striker Ajani Ibrahim headlining the game with a brace and an assist in a game that moved Rangers 4th in the league standings.
In an exclusive with Naijafootballplus.com on Saturday, Coach Gbenga Ogunbote spoke on the match against Tornadoes, Ajani Ibrahim and the upcoming NPFL mid-season transfer window.
“We expect that at this level every game comes as a tough one, and we would always get prepared,” said Ogunbote.
“We are in Tornadoes to give our best, and ensure the result against them tomorrow (Sunday) is positive for us and shift us further up the table.”
Speaking on if Ajani Ibrahim maintains a starting place in the team for the game against Yobe, Ogunbote says: “Well, it’s an internal arrangement, one has to see how the players are faring, you know football is a game of contact and so much surprises, so one can never tell how it will go, but Ajani is a good player and will be of help to the team.”
Gbenga Ogunbote also informed there will be some new faces added to the team when the mid-season transfer window opens on April 14.
“Definitely, we will need to beef up the team. It’s not a wholesome issue, but putting the right peg in the right hole, just adding one or two players to the team, to make sure the team is formidable,” said Ogunbote.
