Sunday Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard wobbles to yet another defeat

Coach Sunday Oliseh suffered another defeat in Monday night’s Netherlands – Eerste Divisie match between AZ Alkmaar II and his team Fortuna Sittard, losing 0-2.

All is not well with Fortuna Sittard managed by the former Super Eagles captain since the turn of the year that has seen them lost three games in a row, a situation that has seen them drop from top of the table to third.

Two second half goals from Ferdy Druijf and Owen Wijndal in the 51st and 63rd minutes settled the tie in favour of host AZ II.

Coach Oliseh has to find a way to motivate his team to recover their fine form from the first stanza of the season as they are in danger of missing out on the playoffs places for a spot in the Dutch top division, as only three points separates them from fourth placed Emmem FC.

Oliseh and his Fortuna Sittard team now sit in 3rd spot on the league table with 44points from 24 games, 5 points adrift of NEC FC and Ajax II who both are tied on points with the former ahead on goals difference.

Up next for coach Sunday Oliseh is a home game against Telstar on Friday, providing an opportunity for Fortuna Sittard to turn around their dwindling fortunes.
