Papilo FC hails referee despite loss

Coach of Papilo FC Uzoh Obinna has showered praises on center referee Ruth Okafor who officiated the match day 9 Nigeria National League game between Go Round FC and his side Papilo FC at the weekend.

Despite his team losing 3:1 to Go Round Football Club in Omoku, Coach Obinna speaking to the press after the game commended the young referee for her firm handling of the encounter.

Obinna speaking of the importance of having top notch referees if the division is to develop, revealed his admiration for Okafor adding he wouldn’t mind having her in charge of his teams games both home or away.

“I must commend the referee. This the only referee I would like to meet and meet again in my away games and my home games” said Obinna.

“She is firm, she is not biased. She is just a straight forward person. I think this is what the league needs.

This is the only day I am seeing a good referee” he also added.

In a division where most coaches are bound to blame officiating for an away loss, Obinna’s praise for Ruth Okafor is surely a breath of fresh air and also lays testament for the upcoming referee from the Lagos Referees Council.
